Ohio Elects New Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians State President:

Medina County Missionaries receive National Charter at 78th Biennial AOH/LAOH Ohio State Convention. The new divisions celebrated their first anniversary in February 2011 and were very excited to receive their official charter. The membership chose their name the Irish Missionaries, in honor of Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity.

LAOH Countess de Markievicz Division #1, Franklin County, Ohio, celebrated the 30th anniversary of their Division charter on Saturday, April 30. Members and guests attended Mass at St. Ladislas Church, then processed to the AOH hall nearby for a reception and buffet dinner. The evening ended with the band The Hooligans entertaining the crowd.
Division President Teresa Harris introduced the following attendees:LAOH National Office of Catholic Action Carol Sheyer, LAOH Ohio State President Mary Anne Weber,LAOH Ohio State Vice President Mary Higgins, LAOH Ohio State Office of Missions and Charities Clara Joyce, and LAOH Ohio State Past Presidents Judy Leddy and Eileen O'Donnell.

2011 Northern Ohio Rose of Tralee Bridget Linton
The winner of the 2001 Northern Ohio Rose of Tralee is Bridget Linton.
Bridget is majoring in Broadcast
Journalism at the University of Akron, where she has earned placement on the Dean’s List and is a member of the University of Akron Dance Team. Bridget is also an Irish dancer and seven-time world qualifier and medal holder. Her career goal is to become a worldwide news correspondent. Bridget is an advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Bridget’s great-grandparents, Brigid Ward and James Dixon, both immigrated to Cleveland from County Mayo. Bridget represented Northern Ohio in the International Rose of Tralee competition in Ireland. Bridget is the daughter of Past National President Kathy Linton.
Members of the Junior Division Golden Rose Queen of Ireland of Mahoning County, Ohio LAOH attended a meeting on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. A report was given on the Burke Dancers Relay For Life team service project that raised over $8,000.
